Say hello to Dan the Man.

Isabat, who sent this one in, says that this is the ugliest house in Harlem. It seems a reasonable enough claim to me. Its on the market for a nasty price - $1,250,000. However, it is proving a tough wreck to shift. The "motivated"seller has already cut the price.

This sounds like a job for Dan Danielli, New York's superstar realtor. He had recently taken this wreck under his tender wing. Here is what Dan had to say for himself.

"When a broker’s achievements exceed his seller’s expectations, the word spreads quickly: Dan Danielli has blazed an impressive trail through Manhattan’s luxury homes market. Having closed nearly a half-billion dollars worth of residential sales during his career, Mr. Danielli came to the Halstead Property Company after having been a top-producing broker at 3 premiere Manhattan real estate firms – most recently at William B. May Company, where he made their quarterly “Top Five Brokers” list 8 times since 2000 – including 4 times in the No. 1 spot, and received their Big Apple Award for outstanding sales achievement. Within 3 months of joining Halstead, he sold a $5,600,000 Townhouse and was appointed to Halstead’s Platinum Circle and Producer’s Council.

Many celebrities – particularly from the Classical Music world – have sold (or purchased) properties through Mr. Danielli, including tenor Placido Domingo, concert pianists Evgeny Kissin, Alicia de Larrocha and Eugene Istomin, violinists Pinchas Zukerman and Kyung-Wha Chung, cellist Mstislav Rostropovich, guitarist Sharon Isbin, and pop-star Roger Waters (Pink Floyd). Other notable clients include film actress Tuesday Weld, ABC News analyst George Stephanopoulos, painter Peter Max, Microsoft (Japan) President Kazuhiko Nishi, Barnes & Nobel President Michael Berry, hedge-fund giant Cliff Asness, and Metropolitan Opera General Manager Peter Gelb."

Mr. Danielli has a very nice website. Please check it out, it is sooooooooooo interesting, that it makes me want to go out and buy one of his listings. Naturally, Dan goes straight into the Overvalued realtors Hall of Fame. Make sure it goes on the resume Dan.

Thanks, Isabat for this one. If you have any nominations for the Hall of Fame, please send them. The listing number on the house is 1071987. It can be found on

Whomever wrote this article didn't do his homework: This Harlem house was a FSBO (for sale by owner)listing, and this owner gave several brokers permission to advertise it, including Prudential Douglas Elliman, Massey Knackal, Corcoran & Halstead. FSBO listing prices are set by THE SELLER, not by brokers! Therefore, your slanted effort to lay blame on Dan Danielli for this price is simply ridiculous, and discredits your blog. If you have any integrity, look up the owner's name on, and ask him why he thought his house was worth such a price. And next time, guys, get your facts straight.
